Preparing and Treating Home Entry Points and Pet Resting Areas
A little preparation makes treating a home easier — and helps you follow the directions on the label. This guide covers two different jobs: treating home entry points and other surfaces, and treating indoor pet resting areas. Each job uses a different spray, so do not swap them.
Always read and follow the label before use.
Step 1: Find the routes and resting spots
For surfaces around the home, look for entry points, baseboards, corners, behind appliances, patios, and the garage. For pet areas, look for the places pets actually rest: beds, bedding, carpets, crates, carriers, and other resting spots.
Knowing where you will treat before you start helps you work in order and avoid spraying places you did not mean to treat.
Step 2: Prepare and treat entry points and surfaces
Use Rip Bug™ Multi-Insect Spray (16 oz) for surfaces around the home, indoors and out. It is ready to use, with no mixing.
- Wear protective gloves.
- Spray 8 to 12 inches away until the surface is wet, but not to runoff.
- Do not spray on people or pets. Avoid breathing the vapor, mist, or spray, and avoid contact with skin and eyes. It may cause irritation or an allergic reaction in some people.
- Let the treated surface air dry, or wipe it dry with a cloth or paper towel.
- Keep it out of reach of children.
Step 3: Prepare and treat indoor pet resting areas
Use Rip Bug™ Flea & Tick Spray for Pets (16 oz) for indoor pet areas only. It is not applied directly to animals.
- Take pets out of the area.
- Remove food and water bowls.
- Treat the surfaces pets rest on, such as beds, bedding, carpets, crates, and carriers.
- Allow the area to dry fully before pets come back.
A short checklist before you put the bottle away
- Did you use the spray made for that job — multi-insect spray for surfaces, and flea and tick spray for indoor pet areas?
- Did you spray 8 to 12 inches away, until wet, for the multi-insect spray?
- Are pets out of pet resting areas, and are food and water bowls removed, until those areas are fully dry?
- Did you wear gloves for the multi-insect spray, and let treated surfaces dry as directed?
If you are unsure about any step, check the product page and the label first — and always read and follow the label before use.
