Products and ingredients

What are Rip Bug sprays made with?

Botanical oils. The Mosquito Repellent Spray lists rosemary, citronella, geranium, cedarwood, peppermint and lemongrass oils in a soybean oil base. Every bottle prints its own active list and the percentages, so check the one you are buying.

Is the mosquito spray DEET-free?

Yes. The Mosquito Repellent Spray is DEET-free. Every bottle prints its own ingredient statement.

Do they have a strong chemical smell?

They carry the scent of the botanical oils they are made with. The Mosquito Repellent Spray's ingredient statement is its six botanical oils in a soybean oil base, with no separate fragrance listed.

Which spray do I need?

The Mosquito Repellent Spray is for time spent outdoors. The Multi-Insect Spray is the everyday one for ants, roaches, flies and spiders around the home. The Flea & Tick Spray is for pet areas.

Where are they made?

In the USA.

Using the sprays

Where do I spray the Multi-Insect Spray indoors?

Its label lists accessible areas behind appliances and cabinets, around trash cans, around windows and door frames, vents, eaves, and in attics, basements and crawlspaces. Spray pests directly, then let the surface air dry or wipe it dry.

How close should I hold the bottle?

It depends which spray you have, so read the one in your hand. The Multi-Insect Spray says eight to twelve inches, spraying until the surface is wet but not to the point of saturation or runoff. The Mosquito Repellent Spray is applied to skin and clothing instead, with enough product to cover evenly.

Do I need to empty a cupboard before treating it?

Yes. The label asks you to remove items from a pantry, cupboard, cabinet or closet first, so you can reach the surfaces and avoid treating things you did not mean to.

How often do I reapply?

Follow the label on the bottle you are using. The mosquito spray says every 90 minutes or as needed.

How long before I notice a difference?

It depends on the pest, the area and how the product is applied. Use as directed and repeat as needed.

Do I need to mix or dilute anything?

Read the directions on your bottle. They are not the same across the three sprays, and the Flea & Tick label describes a diluted solution for some uses. If anything on the label is unclear, email info@ubbrands.com before you use it.
