About Rip Bug

We make plant-based sprays for the pests people actually deal with at home: ants, roaches, flies, spiders, mosquitoes, fleas and ticks. Botanical oils instead of harsh synthetic pesticides, with the ingredients printed on the bottle.

Why we started

Rip Bug began with a straightforward frustration: the sprays on the shelf worked on the pests and smelled like a chemical plant, and nobody wanted to use them near a kitchen counter or a dog bed.

So the formulas are built around botanical oils. The Mosquito Repellent Spray, for instance, lists rosemary, citronella, geranium, cedarwood, peppermint and lemongrass in a soybean oil base, with the percentage of each printed on the label.

Three sprays, three jobs

Rather than one bottle that claims to do everything, the range splits by the job:

  • Mosquito Repellent Spray. DEET-free, for time spent outdoors.
  • Multi-Insect Spray. The everyday trigger spray for ants, roaches, flies and spiders around the home, indoors and out.
  • Flea & Tick Spray for Pets. For the indoor areas pets use.

All three are made in the USA and come ready to use from the trigger or the pump. Read the directions on your bottle, as they differ.

What is in them

The actives are botanical oils, and they are listed with their percentages on the label of every bottle alongside the precautionary statements.

The Mosquito Repellent Spray, for example, states rosemary at 1.50%, citronella at 0.90%, geranium at 0.75%, cedarwood at 0.70%, peppermint at 0.60% and lemongrass at 0.25%, in a soybean oil base.
